Setting up on an older or non-smart TV
If a TV has no smart features, or its built-in apps are outdated, you do not need a new TV. Any TV with an HDMI port can use IPTV through a streaming stick or box: the device supplies the apps, and the TV simply displays the picture. Plug the device into HDMI, connect it to power and Wi-Fi, then follow the steps above on the streaming device. For very old TVs without HDMI, IPTV is usually impractical, and a newer TV or a computer screen is a better route.
Typing details without frustration
The most tedious part of setup is often entering account details with a TV remote. To make it easier:
- Use a phone remote app for your device, which lets you type with your phone's keyboard.
- Plug in a USB keyboard, which many TVs and boxes accept.
- Copy carefully — a single wrong character causes a login failure.
- Check capital letters and symbols, which are easy to mistype on on-screen keyboards.
Setting up several devices
Set up your main device first and make sure everything works. Then repeat steps 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 on each additional device. Using the same player on similar devices keeps things familiar for everyone. Remember that simultaneous viewing is limited by your plan's number of devices.
